Foster Garvey is pleased to introduce The Regulatory Check-In, a new recurring series on the firm’s Duff on Hospitality Law blog.

Hotel owners and operators are contending with new fee disclosure rules, evolving workplace requirements, data privacy legislation and sustainability reporting obligations, often across multiple jurisdictions at once. The Regulatory Check-In was created to help them keep pace.

The series is authored by Melia A. Preedy, who advises the firm’s hospitality clients on the legal and operational challenges of running a modern hospitality business. Her work spans contract negotiations, fee compliance and the regulatory and market matters that impact how these businesses operate day to day.

“We saw an opportunity to give our clients something they have been asking for,” said Greg Duff, chair of Foster Garvey’s national Hospitality, Travel & Tourism practice and founder of Duff on Hospitality Law. “Adding this kind of coverage to the blog was a natural next step, and Melia is the ideal person to lead the effort.”

Each edition will bring together the industry developments Melia is watching most closely, along with her perspective on what they mean for the businesses affected.

“I wanted to build a resource that gives readers clarity on what is shifting and why it matters to them specifically,” said Melia. “This space deserves coverage that speaks directly to the people facing these critical issues.”
