Foster Garvey Celebrates Arrival of 2026 Associate Class in Seattle
SEATTLE, Wash. (September 14, 2026) Foster Garvey is pleased to announce the arrival of five first-year associates: Grace Ande*, Lar’Ranz Guider, Morgan Lewis*, Sam Miller and Penny (Jitnicha) Pathanaporn*. The class spans four distinct practice areas, with all five attorneys based in Seattle. The arrival of this talented group reinforces the firm’s commitment to growth and development across key markets, including in the Seattle region and the broader Pacific Northwest.
Grace Ande returns to Foster Garvey after gaining experience as a summer associate, joining the firm’s Intellectual Property, Privacy & Technology group. In law school, Grace was an active contributor to Seattle U Law’s academic and extracurricular life, serving on the Law Review, Moot Court Board, and as VP of Networking for the Womxn’s Law Caucus. Her professional background includes legal internship experience at a Seattle-based plaintiffs’ firm and prior roles in education and public service. She holds a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in finance from Washington State University Honors College.
Lar’Ranz (Larz) Guider joins Foster Garvey’s Investment Management group. He gained experience as a Legal Defense Fund clerk at the National Association of Social Workers and completed an externship at a global law firm, where he researched state and local tax matters and tracked legislative developments. Larz also completed an externship at Deloitte in federal tax credits and incentives, where he drafted memos related to Qualified Opportunity Zones and New Markets Tax Credit programs. He holds a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School, an LL.M. in taxation from Georgetown University Law Center, a master’s degree in communications and media studies from Kansas State University and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities.
Morgan Lewis returns to Foster Garvey after gaining experience as a summer associate, joining the Litigation group. Morgan’s legal interests are rooted in service and advocacy, with hands-on experience supporting clients through pro bono initiatives focused on expungement, legal name and gender marker changes, and access to justice. She recently contributed to criminal casework and court proceedings at the U.S. Attorney’s Office in Yosemite National Park. Before law school, Morgan worked in health care and early childhood education, where she developed strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills in high-responsibility environments. She holds a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Washington.
Sam Miller returns to Foster Garvey after gaining experience as a summer associate, joining the Business & Commercial Transactions group. He spent the past year at the Alaska State Supreme Court, clerking for the Honorable Dario Borghesan. While in law school, Sam served as a research assistant for two of his professors. He was also executive editor of lead articles for the Seattle University Law Review and a mentor for the Seattle Youth Traffic Court. Before law school, Sam gained experience at a creditors’ rights law firm where he worked as a compliance specialist, communicating directly with clients to resolve issues and clarifying reporting standards. He holds a J.D. from Seattle University School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in astrophysics from Haverford College.
Sam will join the firm on October 5.
Penny (Jitnicha) Pathanaporn returns to Foster Garvey after gaining experience as a two-time summer associate, joining the Investment Management group. During law school, Penny served as Associate Editor-in-Chief (External) of the Washington Journal of Law, Technology & Arts, Director of Mentorship for the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association, and Vice President of Diversity for the Technology Law Society. She also participated in the University of Washington School of Law’s Mediation Clinic, where she completed mediation training, as well as the Technology Law and Public Policy Clinic. Penny earned two CALI Excellence for the Future Awards for achieving the highest grade in Mergers & Acquisitions and Administrative Law. Before law school, Penny worked as a paralegal at an immigration law firm, where she assisted on a range of visa and adjustment of status matters and supported clients through complex filings and interviews. She holds a J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and a bachelor’s degree in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
