The American Bar Association’s Business Law Section has appointed Foster Garvey Principal Paul Heer as Chair of the Institutional Investors Committee. Paul’s three-year term will begin after the 2025 Business Law Section Fall Meeting and end after the 2028 Business Law Section Fall Meeting. Todd Boudreau of Arnold & Porter currently holds the position of Committee Chair.  

Paul is a key partner of the Chambers-ranked Investment Management practice at Foster Garvey. He specializes in advising public pension funds across the country on a wide range of investment structures, including private equity funds, hedge funds, collective investment trusts, SBICs, co-investments, real estate, advisory and platform relationships, and other alternative arrangements.

The Business Law Section serves its nearly 40,000 professionals, the legal field, and the public by providing educational resources, assisting members in serving their clients ethically and competently, and further developing and improving business law.

Business Law Section Chair-Elect Norman M. Powell wrote, “[Paul] is a crucial part of the Section’s leadership team and [his] activities within [the] Committee and within the Section are essential to our overall success.”
