Foster Garvey Newsroom

Foster Garvey today announces its third strategic, professional staff hire in six months – welcoming former civil litigator and Seattle University assistant dean Georgia Woodruff as the firm’s Director of Legal Talent & Professional Development. She will lead Foster Garvey’s strategic initiatives around attorney recruitment and onboarding, mentorship, and professional development.

“With our focus on the thoughtful expansion of our team as we look ahead to the future needs of our clients, it only makes sense to deepen our commitment to their success through the strategic recruitment of top legal talent,” said Scott Flichtbeil, Chief Operating Officer of Foster Garvey. “Georgia brings an unrivaled combination of firsthand litigation experience in addition to her career as a law school administrator. She is uniquely suited to oversee our attorney recruiting and professional development curriculum.”

Georgia most recently served as Assistant Dean of the Center for Professional Development at Seattle University School of Law where she was dedicated to students and alumni, their careers, and their relationships with the legal community in Seattle and beyond. She previously was the Director of Career Services at her law school alma mater, Pepperdine University. As a litigator, Georgia specialized in complex product liability cases, primarily automobile and tire defect matters. She practiced for several years in Southern California at Green Broillet & Wheeler and Panish Shea & Boyle.

“Georgia will have a tremendous impact on our ability to attract and retain top legal talent,” said Traci Metcalf, Foster Garvey’s Chief People Officer. “She has a proven track record of successfully guiding the careers of attorneys and law students across a broad range of experience, practices and career interests. Her leadership will be instrumental in the continued success of our firm.”

Georgia earned her B.A. in English Literature from Colgate University and her J.D. from Pepperdine University School of Law.

Foster Garvey continues to focus on the recruitment and retention of top legal talent as part of the firm’s commitment to best-in-class client service. Georgia joins Jennifer R. Castleberry, hired as the firm’s Chief Marketing & Business Development Officer in April, and Traci Metcalf, who was later promoted to the role of Chief People Officer, as the firm continues its steady expansion. Foster Garvey welcomed six additional attorneys over the same timeframe.
