Foster Garvey is excited to host the 2024 Joint Minority Mentorship Program (JMMP) kick-off event on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. This event celebrates the launch of the inaugural class of Stone Scholars, honoring Rafael Stone's legacy of more than 50 years in the legal profession and his commitment to fostering opportunity and diversity.

The JMMP, a collaborative effort of 16 Washington bar associations, supports law students and new lawyers from historically marginalized or underrepresented backgrounds by pairing them with experienced mentors. This unique mentorship program aims not only to enhance professional growth but also to inspire participants to emulate Stone's exemplary service and dedication.

At the kick-off, mentor-mentee pairs will meet for the first time to outline their mentorship plans, discussing topics, schedules, and activities for the year ahead. While the formal program lasts one year, many relationships continue, building a lasting network of support.

For more details on the Stone Scholars program and Rafael Stone's contributions, we invite you to read the full press release.

Join us to celebrate diversity and empower the next generation of legal professionals as Stone Scholars, laying the groundwork for a more inclusive legal community.
