The fate of media ownership limits may be well decided by the Supreme Court before the nomination for Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s replacement is confirmed. The Federal Communications Commission and the National Association of Broadcasters have appealed the 2-1 decision by the Third Circuit that blocked the media ownership revisions from taking effect. With the Supreme Court expected to discuss a potential appeal hearing, Brad Deutsch weighs in on the likelihood that the Supreme Court may accept the case and has the support to overturn the lower court’s ruling over the updates to the media ownership rules, based on the conservative majority’s stance.
