At Foster Garvey, we celebrate diversity and believe it strengthens our firm and enhances our ability to serve clients. As part of our commitment to diversity and inclusion, we offer the Kenneth L. Schubert Jr. 1L Diversity Fellowship Program. This program honors one of our early founders, Ken Schubert Jr., who was a trailblazer in promoting diversity in the legal profession.

The fellowship is open to incoming first-year law students for the 2023-2024 academic year who represent a diverse range of backgrounds, including but not limited to, persons of color, women, LGBTQ+ individuals, and persons with disabilities. The recipient of the fellowship will be awarded a 10-week paid summer associate position in our Seattle office between their first and second year of law school. Upon completion of the summer associate position, the Diversity Fellow will receive a $15,000 fellowship award ($7,500 payable at the start of the first semester/quarter of the second year, and another $7,500 payable at the start of the second semester/quarter of the second year upon the showing of continued outstanding academic performance).
