Overview

With a focus on transactional business law and intellectual property law, Mio helps clients with navigating the entire business life cycle.

Mio represents closely held entities and emerging growth companies with entity selection, formation, equity and debt financing transactions, acquisitions and, if appropriate, the transfer or sale of the business. In addition, Mio advises on capital raising transactions, working closely with companies looking for capital as well as venture capital and private equity funds. Mio often serves as outside general counsel to clients in support of operations, capital raising, corporate governance, commercial transactions, contract drafting and negotiation, intellectual property and general business matters.

Her practice also focuses on advising on risk management and business development functions for cannabis-industry clients in high-risk niche verticals, including the sale of hemp-based and CBD-infused products.

Mio was born in Los Angeles and raised in Seattle, and regularly shared time between the United States and Japan. Bilingual and bicultural, Mio loves to incorporate her diverse background in finding the best solutions for clients.
