Overview
China has long been a major focus of Foster Garvey’s international practice since its early days when legacy firm founder Stan Barer negotiated the resumption of shipping trade relations between the United States and China after a 30-year hiatus. China COSCO Shipping Corporation Limited (formerly known as COSCO) has designated GSB as its U.S. counsel, a representation that continues today.
Established in 2004, Foster Garvey extended its Pacific Rim presence with a Beijing office to better serve U.S. companies doing business in China as well as serve Chinese companies on all aspects of doing business in the United States. We advise international clients in China’s evolving and complex regulatory environment. Our holistic approach also includes helping clients resolve the immigration, tax and litigation issues associated with their U.S. operations, and to navigate the cultural differences between the Chinese and U.S. business environments. We also handle a diverse array of regulatory issues affecting foreign businesses in the United States by drawing on our wealth of experience practicing before U.S. regulatory agencies.
