U.S. News & World Report reported on the full-scale investigation led by GSB's Joy Ellis and Bob Weaver into Portland Public Schools, which examined the District's improper handling of numerous sexual misconduct allegations involving one of its former educators, Mitch Whitehurst.
Their investigation comprised interviews of nearly 100 witnesses – current and former administrators, former teachers, and school staff, former students, law enforcement, parents, and Board members – and it revealed that there were serious systemic and individual failures by the District for several years.
