Foster Garvey is pleased to announce the arrival of William Kenick (Associate*), Sophia Sun (Associate*) and Bennett May (Law Clerk), to the firm’s Seattle and Portland offices. The addition of this talented group reinforces the firm’s bench strength in key growth areas and will further enhance its ability to deliver exceptional client service.
William Kenick returns to the firm as a member of the Municipal, Health & Housing practice. He is a recent graduate of the University of Washington School of Law and Foster Garvey’s 2022 Kenneth L. Schubert Jr. 1L Diversity Fellow. William served as president of UW Law’s Student Bar Association and as the Alumni and Professional Development Lead for the school’s Latinx Law Student Association. Passionate about community involvement and combatting social justice issues, he previously worked as a case manager for affordable housing seekers in Washington’s East King County and as a paralegal helping low-income homeowners in New York City find foreclosure alternatives. William holds a bachelor's degree in American Studies from Columbia University.
Bennett May becomes the newest member of the firm’s Business & Corporate Finance practice. A graduate of the University of Florida Levin College of Law, he participated in several student activities, including the Jeffrey G. Miller National Environmental Law Moot Court Competition and the Eighth Judicial Circuit Bar Association Mentoring Program. Demonstrating a deep interest in the intersection of science, technology and law, Bennett is a USPTO-certified patent agent and recently completed an externship with the UF Office of Privacy during which he assisted with the analysis and application of privacy rules and regulations to school operations. Bennett completed his undergraduate studies at the College of Charleston Honors College with a bachelor’s degree in Biology.
Sophia Sun rejoins the firm as a member of the Investment Management group. She is a University of Washington School of Law graduate and a 2022 Gregoire Fellow. Sophia served on the Washington Law Review as both associate editor-in-chief and diversity & inclusion chair and honed her legal skills through an internship and externship with Vulcan LLC (now Vale Group) and lululemon, respectively. She was active in several student organizations at UW Law, including the Law and Business Association, the Cyber Law Association of Washington, the Women's Law Caucus, and the Asian/Pacific American Law Students Association. Sophia earned her bachelor's degree from Cornell University in Industrial and Labor Relations.
