Foster Pepper is pleased to announce the firm’s Nonprofit & Tax-Exempt Organizations group has been selected to present at the 2015 Washington State Nonprofit Conference on May 13, 2015. Foster Pepper was chosen out of more than 75 submitted proposals.
Foster Pepper attorneys Joanna Plichta Boisen, Steve Peltin and Denny Wong will be representing Foster Pepper with their presentation “Thriving Through Legal Resilience.” The presentation will provide practical advice on spotting and avoiding complications from common legal issues and share best practices for employment law compliance, staying true to the organization’s tax-exempt purposes, registering under the various charitable registration acts and navigating the unrelated business income tax rules, which will help nonprofits reduce legal exposure and focus on their mission.
The Washington State Nonprofit Conference is the leading nonprofit conference in Washington State with more than 600 nonprofit leaders in attendance. Washington Nonprofits manages the conference in collaboration with the University of Washington’s Nancy Bell Evans Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy at the Evans School of Public Affairs, Seattle University Master of Nonprofit Leadership Program, the United Ways of the Pacific Northwest, Philanthropy Northwest and 501 Commons.
