The National Law Journal released its annual Midsize Hot List highlighting 20 firms between 50 and 200 lawyers from around the country “that in no way are stuck in the shadows cast by giant competitors” and stand out from their peer firms. Foster Pepper was listed as one of those top 20 firms.
The report says that these firms “are led by forward-thinking attorneys who are guiding their organizations in new practice directions, amassing more business in mainstay practices and spreading into new regions.” Foster Pepper was recognized for “customer service by the book,” emphasizing the firm’s focus on how clients should be treated by all attorneys and staff.
“We are honored for our inclusion on this prestigious list and the recognition of our firm as a leader in customer service,” said Robert Kunold, Jr., Managing Partner and Chair of the firm’s Business practice. “We take great pride in our firm and our clients, and our clients in turn, recognize the value we add to their activities and transactions.”
Foster Pepper was recognized in part because of its unique position on client engagement, its lateral hiring strategy, and its large transactions. Among the examples cited in the report include the firm’s work on behalf of Vulcan Real Estate in its $1.16 billion sale of 1.8 million square feet of office space to Amazon.com Inc., as well as its work on behalf of investment group Global Baristas LLC, led by actor Patrick Dempsey, in obtaining the bankruptcy court's approval as the successful bidder to purchase the assets of Tully’s Coffee, through a bidding process that included Starbucks Corp.
