Foster Pepper Promotes Five to Member Status

Foster Pepper is pleased to announce the promotion to Member (Partner) of Lindsay A. Coates, Alicia M. Feichtmeir, Lara L. Hemingway, Benjamin J. Hodges and Jeffrey P. Lane, effective January 1, 2017. 

Lindsay A. Coates, an attorney in the firm’s Municipal Government and Public Finance practices, advises clients on matters related to the issuance of municipal bonds, low-income housing tax credits and general municipal law. She serves as bond counsel, borrower’s counsel, disclosure counsel, and underwriter’s counsel in connection with the sale of municipal securities. Lindsay serves on the board of directors for Child Care Resources. She received her J.D. (summa cum laude) from Seattle University School of Law and her B.S. from the University of Puget Sound.  

Alicia M. Feichtmeir, a member of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Employment & Labor practices, advises public and private employers on compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, as well as best practices in personnel management. She defends employers in workplace disputes involving harassment and discrimination, wage and hour issues, whistleblower concerns, wrongful discharge, non-competition and trade secret misappropriation claims. Alicia also serves as the co-chair of Foster Pepper’s Professional Development program. Alicia received her J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and her B.A. from Wesleyan University. 

Lara L. Hemingway is a member of the firm’s Business practice and counsels clients in the areas of employee benefits and executive compensation. Her practice focuses on Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) transactions, involving the purchase and sale of companies in deals involving an ESOP. She manages employee compensation and benefit issues in merger and acquisition transactions as both in-house and outside counsel. Lara is on the board of trustees for the Spokane Public Library and a member of the board of directors for the Northwest Autism Center. She earned her LL.M. in Taxation and J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law and received her B.A. from the University of Washington.

Benjamin J. Hodges, a member of the firm’s Litigation & Dispute Resolution and Intellectual Property practices, is a registered patent attorney and focuses on IP Litigation and post grant IP matters. His experience includes managing complex civil litigation cases, including patent, trademark and trade dress, copyright and breach of contract cases. Ben is the vice-chair of the American Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division Intellectual Property Committee, a member of the Board of Trustees for the King County Bar Association, and a member of the Greater Seattle Area Advisory Council for Techbridge. He received his J.D. from the University of Missouri School of Law and his B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis.  

Jeffrey P. Lane is a member of the firm’s Health Care practice and focuses on health care and medical research law. He advises his clients on structuring a range of health care and medical research-related transactions, as well as advising organizations on the unique legal compliance issues that arise as a result of engaging in international health care operations and research affiliations. Jeff is an Instructor of Law and Global Health at the University of Washington and a member of the board of directors of the Washington State Society of Healthcare Attorneys. Jeff received his J.D. from the University of Washington School of Law, his M.P.H. from the University of Washington and his B.A. from Boston College.
