On April 19, 2018, Foster Pepper hosted the 12th Annual Wine, Women & What’s Happening event, an event focused on bringing together a diverse group of women from around the Puget Sound region. The event was held at the Four Seasons in Seattle and hosted more than 250 women leaders and entrepreneurs in the fields of law, banking, the arts, real estate, nonprofit, education, health care, technology, sports, marketing and more. This year’s keynote speaker was Christine Gregoire, former governor of Washington state.
Former Governor Gregoire spoke about her time as Governor, and her current work with Challenge Seattle
, a private sector initiative led by the region’s CEOs working to address the issues that will determine the future of our region, including the economy, homelessness and transportation.
Every year, Foster Pepper, with the help of co-host Wells Fargo Washington Women’s Roundtable, makes a donation to a nonprofit organization that our speaker is passionate about. This year’s honoree was the College Success Foundation
, which provides an integrated system of supports and scholarships to inspire underserved, low-income students to finish high school, graduate from college and succeed in life.
The annual Wine, Women & What’s Happening event started in 2007 by Foster Pepper attorney Judith Runstad
and has welcome speakers including Sheri Flies from Costco, Ana Marie Cauce from the University of Washington, Leslie Jackson Chihuly from Chihuly Studio, former U.S. Attorney General for the Western District of Washington and current City of Seattle Mayor Jenny Durkan, Dawn Trudeau from the Seattle Storm, and Adriene Brown from Intellectual Ventures. Foster Pepper remains committed to maintaining a diverse workplace and elevating women to leadership positions, including on the Executive Committee that governs the firm.
