Sven's practice is focused in health care and public finance. He aids health care providers with compliance, prevention of fraud and abuse, Medicare and Medicaid issues, physician contracts and services agreements, corporate matters, certificate of need and municipal governance issues for public hospital districts. Sven also assists in roles including bond counsel, underwriter's counsel and borrower's counsel for 501(c)(3) healthcare financings as well as for municipal bonds. In addition, Sven regularly aids clients regarding public record and open public meeting compliance. He is a regular contributor to Foster Pepper's Local Open Government legal blog: www.localopengovernment.com.

Prior to beginning his legal career, Sven earned a Ph.D. in philosophy from Georgetown University with a specialization in ethics and in the philosophy of biology. He taught courses in political philosophy, ethics and philosophy of biology at Georgetown and at American University.
