Judy Runstad Presented with UW Law School, Law Women's Caucus Distinguished Alumna Award
March 4, 2010 – Judy Runstad, Foster Pepper Of Counsel and one of the region’s most well regarded land use attorneys, received the Distinguished Alumna Award from the UW School of Law, Law Women’s Caucus last night.
The Law Women’s Caucus seeks to honor alumnae who have expanded the participation of women in the legal profession, remained active in the Washington legal community, and advanced the status of women within the broader society. Past recipients have included the Honorable Carolyn Dimmick and the Honorable Betty Fletcher.
The Law Women’s Caucus is an organization dedicated to helping to resolve issues facing women in the legal profession. It seeks to provide support to female law students in a variety of ways such as mentorship programs, speaker presentations/discussions, and social events. The organization has the goal of reaching out to the greater community by working with other organizations on particular issues and participating in charitable events.
Judy’s decades of service to her community has received wide recognition over the years – most recently she and husband Jon were presented with the UW Gates Volunteer Service Award. Judy was awarded a 2007 Corporate Director of the Year Award by the Seattle-Northwest Chapter of the National Association of Corporate Directors (NACD). She also works as chair of the San Francisco Federal Reserve Bank, co-chair of the Washington Competitiveness Council, board member for Wells Fargo & Co., Safeco Corp. and Potlatch Corp., and has served on five gubernatorial commissions. She also recently accepted a Board position for Washington Women’s Foundation.
