Foster Pepper PLLC announced that Robert Kunold, Jr., Member in the firm’s Business practice group, has been appointed Chair of the firm’s Executive Committee (i.e., Managing Partner). Kunold succeeds J. Tayloe Washburn, who held the position since 2001 and returns to his land use practice full-time.
“I am honored to take over what has been a very successful tenure for Tayloe,” said Kunold. “Foster Pepper is a great firm with strong attorneys and practice areas. I look forward to continuing that strong tradition and working to expand our role in the communities we serve.”
Chairs of the Executive Committee are appointed by elected Committee members for four-year terms. They are responsible for managing the firm, providing direction to the Executive Committee, hiring and supervising attorneys, and overseeing financial management of the firm.
Graduating from Georgetown University Law School, cum laude, in 1994, Kunold’s transactional practice emphasizes mergers and acquisitions, joint venture transactions, aircraft transactions, general business representation and related counseling. He chaired Foster Pepper’s Business Practice Group for several years, and was recently named to the Board of Directors for Special Olympics of Washington. Kunold will continue his M&A practice in addition to his new role.
