From public service legal programs to multi-million dollar finance and infrastructure projects, our firm works closely with Tribes and Alaska Native Corporations to facilitate their community development and economic growth.

We offer services and guidance to our Native clients in a vast array of areas, including but not limited to bond finance, real estate and construction, labor and employment, environmental and land use, business, health care, and intellectual property protection. Our experience includes:

Counsel for Tribe in obtaining $30 million secured term loan to finance casino and infrastructure improvements.

Negotiation and resolution of contract payment disputes between contractors and Tribe for new administrative office construction project.

Served as bond and disclosure counsel in the $18 million financing of a new headquarters and cultural facility in Anchorage, Alaska for a federally recognized Tribal organization. This transaction was honored by the Bond Buyer as the 2006 Deal of the Year for a Far West Region Small Issuer.

Managed issuance of tax-exempt variable rate demand revenue bonds to finance assisted living center for Tribal elders.

Formed federal 8(a) status corporate entity to qualify Alaska Indian Tribe for federal procurement contracting projects.

Since 1990, Foster Pepper has served as counsel for Native American and Alaska Native organizations in connection with over $100 million in bond issues and other financing projects for land acquisition and the construction of convention centers, casinos, hotels, restaurants, community centers, and assisted living facilities.
