Milton Rowland

Milt is a longtime trial lawyer and law professor whose practice focuses on civil litigation, including employment discrimination and wrongful termination law, general municipal law, complex litigation, construction, tort and land title cases, landlord-tenant cases, and dispute resolution and litigation for cities, counties and special purpose districts. He has taught courses in administrative law, local government law, business law and related subjects since 1987, including landlord-tenant, real estate law, insurance law and the law of sales and leases of goods. He was litigation counsel for the City of Spokane from 1993-2007, and in that capacity handled many administrative and litigation matters, including employment, personal injury, malpractice and civil rights litigation. He lectures widely on litigation issues facing agencies.

Mr. Rowland has written CLE papers for the annual WSAMA fall and spring conferences nearly every year since 1993. He has written and lectured on municipal tort and adult entertainment/zoning law, and presented an ethics paper. An exhaustive list of such papers is available upon request.

WSBA

Mr. Rowland has presented papers at two WSBA CLE seminars over the years. One, in 1990, was on the Consumer Protection Act. A second, in 1991, was on business law and litigation.

King County Bar Association

Mr. Rowland presented a paper on the Establishment Clause to the King County Bar Association in 2001.
