Overview

Bob has more than two decades of experience representing institutional investors in domestic and international alternative investments, including fund formation and a wide range of investment matters.

Bob co-chairs the firm's Investment Management practice. With his deep investment experience, which includes private equity funds, hedge funds, investment management agreements, co-investments and secondary transactions, Bob is frequently called upon to serve as investment general counsel for several of the firm’s clients. In this role, he participates in due diligence review and underwriting with such clients and their investment consultants when analyzing competing investment opportunities, including making recommendations regarding which opportunities ultimately should be pursued.

Bob is widely known across the industry and regularly provides educational presentations to public pension funds and their boards on fiduciary, policy and other alternative investment matters. He is a frequent speaker at conferences of prominent industry organizations regarding topics focused on alternative investments and related matters. Bob is an active member of Institutional Limited Partners Association (ILPA), having served on its Model LPA Task Force and regularly speaking at its industry events. He is also an active member of the National Association of Public Pension Attorneys (NAPPA) currently serving on its Investment Committee and regularly speaking at its industry events. Bob often serves as a guest lecturer at the University of Washington School of Law in courses pertaining to alternative investing.

Additionally, Bob counsels organizations of diverse types and sizes – including start-ups, Fortune 500 companies, non-profit and tax-exempt entities and professional sports teams ownership – on investment, general corporate, business and other legal matters on an ongoing basis, with respect to their organization, capitalization, financing, regulatory compliance, contract negotiation, licensing, marketing, liability, investments, and mergers and acquisitions.
